After its renovation, this site has metamorphosed into an Art and Archaeology museum.  The vaulted rooms feature exquisite objects from the archaeology collection and the section on the first floor is home to the temporary exhibits thus creating a link between our epoch and the prehistoric age, the modern and the ancient, art in all its forms and archaeology.

The permanent collection is made up of the digs carried out by the archaeologist, Pierre Pannoux in the immediate surroundings of Matelles. The museum organises contemporary art exhibitions that create a dialogue with the permanent collection
