Several permanent collections are on show at the museum from prehistory to the present day life in Cordes and its surrounds.
- Prehistory : prehistoric objects (Neanderthals, Neolithic, bronze age and Celtic pottery)
- The Gallo-Roman period : very impressive yield of remains from the two main sites : Vindrac and Loubers; everyday objects and those relating to the Roman deity culture.
- The Wisigothic and Meronvingian periods : plaques buckled with belts and garters, jewelry, coffins, small sheets of lead inscribed with enigmatic writings…
- The water at Cordes from the thirteenth to the twentieth century : maps, models ceramic pipes from the seventeenth century, water “shrimp” from the Cordes ground water, a water pump… There is a film about the well in the central market, an incredible well that descends 114 meters, amongst the deepest wells in Medieval France.
- The public and military architecture in Cordes : the decorative exterior elements (four sculpted birds from the house of the Grand Falconer), a diorama of the gothic houses, soap makers and the history of the Museum’s facade (from the fourteenth to the twentieth century).
- Cordes embroidery with its embroidery machine, and the medieval construction site of the Ormeaux door (a squirrel-cage crane, a stonemason’s lodge)
Visitors will also discover the permanent exhibitions on weaving and the Cordes weavers (from the Middle Ages to the nineteenth century) and about the great Cordes sailors from the seventeenth to the eighteenth century.
