Amongst the treasures is the famous Ephèbe, a statue of Alexander the Great that dates from the eleventh century BCE . Because Agathé the ancient Greek city dating back 2,600 years, was a crossroads of civilisations and it gave forth extraordinary sunken riches like cargo ships containing dishes, weapons from the royal marines, maritime transport of amphoras and raw materials and works of art.
The museum offers a visit that is divided into different sections : antique, medieval, modern, as well as a remarkable protohistory collection that comes from la Motte, Montpénèdre and Rochelongue.
