The Departmental Museum of the Resistance and the Deportation over time :
- 1974 :The foundation of the museum following the creation of an association that united Resistant fighters with Deportees.
- 19 August 1994 : To mark the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Toulouse, the departmental council of the Haute-Garonne inaugurated the Departmental Museum of the Resistance and the Deportation at 52 allée des Demoiselles.
- February 2020 : Reopened in 2020 after an extended period of expansion and construction work on the collections, the DMR&D now welcomes you to a refurbished building and a newly designed museum.
The Departmental Museum of the Resistance and the Deportation is :
- A collection of nearly 8000 objects.
- A permanent collection dedicated to the Haute-Garonne during World War II.
- Multiannual temporary exhibitions about art, history and society.
- A cultural programme of conferences, concerts, round-table discussions, films, theatre and workshops runs throughout the year.
