Located in the prestigious listed building, the Hôtel Raymondie, the Gallo-Roman Museum of Uxellodunum, created by the municipality in 1931 has evolved over time to become an ever-changing local history museum.
Besides the permanent collection made up of archaeological finds excavated from the Lot/Dordogne region, ranging from the Lower Paleolithic to the Gallo-Roman period (cut flints, arrowheads, ancient fauna, key objects from the Celtic period), it also contains many pieces evoking the history of Martel (town seals, medicine jars, weights and measures, etc.) and an interesting collection of models of local buildings.
Each room features videos pertaining to the specific exhibitions it houses – “The Dolmens of the Northern Lot”, “The Gallic War and Uxellodunum” and “Martel and the Salt Adventure”.
